Pesto Sauce:
1 cup basil leaves
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup toasted pine nuts
4 cloves garlic, cut in thirds
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender and pulse to combine. Sauce begins to degrade (color and flavor) after 24 hours.
Makes approx. 1 cup of sauce
